1995

RHIND IS BORN

On a beautiful day of January 3rd 1995 Rhind sees the light. The beginning of our journey proved to be tough: the IT evolution was far from reaching everywhere and from entering the food industry. The technological landscape was very different from today.

From the start we knew we had to develop a software for Windows platform which offered the ability to provide a user-friendly interface completely different from DOS. Back then the ability to use the mouse or to tap was very limited, so we developed our first milestone in the shape of an optical bar code reading system to place orders.

It was something never seen before, a true revolution in the food industry. We worked hard to deliver the first software release called Gescom, then we implemented wireless printers which gave us the boost to grow and jump in the ice cream business.

A whole new meaning in the world of food when pen and paper were the standards. This software allowed us to gain an important position giving us the ability to modernize one of our client in the biggest shopping center of Germany.
